New TV Channel for Entrepreneurs

April 22nd, 2007

The response to the Gary Halbert videos I posted last was very positive…and it made me think.

I’ve got miles of video tape on Internet marketing in my archive going back to 1994. Why don’t I start making it available for free on the Internet in useful bite sized pieces? (Duh!)

In just a few days, 1,200+ people told me they thought it was a good idea. They went to the site and joined the bulletin list to be informed every time I post a news video.

In addition to the Halbert material (much more coming by the way), I’ve posted some of my own talks (they were handy and ready to go.)

Coming post-System 2007 (sometime in late May or early June), I’ll be posting an amazing talk by the late Ken Giddens (the System was the first conference that invited him to speak) and Dan Kennedy’s talk at the System in Cleveland.

Then I’ll start going through all past System videos and cherry pick highlights.  My plan is to post at least one new video at the rate of one per week.  In short time, there will be hundreds available.

If you’re interested in taking a look at the site in its early stages, you can take a sneak peek now. I’m calling the project System Seminar TV.

    Hi Ken- a few things:
    1. Great thought sharing Gary Halbert videos. I had the same thought but not access to the content you have. I had another thought- put up a site like remembergary.com and whatever sells there contribute a percent in memory of Gary.
    2. Ken, do you mind if I embed some of the videos on one of my video sites with credit to you.
    3. Last Ken, can I interview you for a special site I have dealing with a component of online video? I’m interviewing experts. Let me know.

    Ken,
I have been a subscriber for months to this blog and am a little disappointed – This blog is about “Looking At Video on The Web”, however this blog does not contain any video. Shouldn’t a blog about video be a Video Blog?

I love the complaints people cook up…
Let’s see. you’re paying NOTHING for your subscription, but you feel compelled to complain.
Your comment that there is no video anywhere on this blog is inaccurate. There are some videos on this blog, but even if there weren’t, the problem with that is…?
Finally, no, a blog about video need not be a video blog. Is TV Guide a television show? Is Sports Illustrated a football game?
This guys knocks himself out to share useful info with all and all you can do is manufacture dopey complaints?

A few years back when you got started doing video online you shared a few ideas with your listeners. At the time you’d put together a
cooking site with cooking videos -nothing fancy, but the main idea was there and I listened.
Since then I went off and did my thing own
thing. And from the spark of your email I went off and created my own business around golf and I want to thank you profoundly. Now
today I’m my own boss and I owe much to you.
    Once again, many thanks!
    All the best,

    Hi Ken,
Congratulations on taking the online video plunge. I have been a loyal subscriber since June of 2006. I, too, am inspired by your indepth information about this online video gold rush. Thanks to you, I took the plunge on February 14, 2007 when I launched the first user-generated video sharing site for the African American community. It is called MyPeopleTV.com. For the record, we were the first to create the idea of individual channels for all of the Presidential candidates, not YouTube. They just got all the national press. Here is the link to my press release and podcast:

I thought you might want to know about Brad Fallon’s new site, Free IQ. It might save you some time and give some ideas about possibly monetizing some of your content.

I would be honored if you would upload some of your videos to the Minority Business Channel on http://www.MyPeopleTV.com
Hope this helps. If there is anything I can help you with don’t hesitate to contact me.
I have a complete mobile hi-def production van and we will go anywhere in the world.
Thanks again for all of your help in getting me started.
I promise there will be a check in the mail as soon I sell to Google:-)

p.s. If you are ever in the Washington DC area I would love to have you on the channel as a guest.

    Darryl,
Thanks for your note. Sounds great!
I’m currently stuck in Albany aiport because of a weather delay listening to the endless loop of salacious, exploitative junk progamming on CNN.
Thank goodness for people like you who are working to give people access to worthwhile content so we can turn off the TV networks. It can’t come too soon for me!
Next time I’m in DC, I’ll be in touch.
By the way, one of our System 2007 faculty members Lloyd Irvin lives close to DC. He’s a fantastic businessman with a great story and a gift for training and motivating.
I did an audio interview with him on TheSystemBlog.com
